Vegetarian vs Vegan

Differences between Vegetarian and Vegan: – A lot of times we see the people around us, who say that they are vegetarian and don’t like meat, like chicken and fish. People, who don’t want to gain weight, always use vegetables. So here it’s understandable the meaning of vegetarian, then what does it mean by vegan.  We may say that what is the difference between vegetarian and vegan?

Differences between Vegetarian and Vegan

When referring to people according to their food behaviors, it’s interesting to know the difference between vegetarian and vegan. By definition, a vegetarian is a person who does not eat meat, poultry or seafood and a vegan is a person who does not eat or drink any product that comes from animals. The products include milk products and eggs. Some vegans go to the extent of not wanting to eat even honey and candida. They would not wear clothes created from animal skin. A vegetarian, for example, would not mind wearing clothes made up of animals’ skin, instead, it is just his diet, which he is worried about. In other words, he just cares that his diet shouldn’t include meat, seafood or poultry.

The diet constraints adopted by the way of a vegetarian are far more peaceful than those implemented by a vegan. A vegan is pretty much a pet animal activist and is totally against the slaughter of animals to get food. He generally shows his protest against the killing of poultry animals and does not use the clothing manufactured from animal products. He will not use furniture and other items which are constructed of wildlife products in his home. He’d totally say no to all types of foods manufactured from animals’ products, such as dairy, cheese, meat and so on.

A vegetarian, for example, wouldn’t normally be an animal activist and so wouldn’t generally protest against the killing of pets or animals to make food and other products, but would pay much focus on his diet to ensure that it generally does not contain meat, fish, and poultry, including seafood. He’d not say no to foods such as parmesan cheese and eggs though. But he wouldn’t resist taking in honey and candida. This implies that although there isn’t much of a notable difference between a vegetarian and a vegan, they both vary in their point of view towards eatable products and diet. He would usually let the use of furniture and other items created from pet animal products in his home and wouldn’t oppose to them. But he wouldn’t actively participate in the act.

There are different kinds of vegetarians like semi-vegetarian, lactovegetarian, Ovo-vegetarian and ovo-lacto-vegetarian. A semi-vegetarian is a person who occasionally eats seafood. An Ovo-vegetarian is someone who will not eat eggs but will eat milk based products, so he’s considered more to be a vegan. A lactovegetarian will not eat milk products and he’s considered a vegan too. An ovo-lacto-vegetarian is someone who will not eat fish, meats, and chicken, but would you eat dairy products and eggs.
