Young

This is an adjective that applies to all those people who are not old; therefore, it is a broader and more encompassing term than “adolescent.”

Although young adults are spoken of, they are often referred to only as persons who are between childhood and adulthood. This word is used to describe individuals who are no longer children, but they are not adults either. Also, it is common that this term is used to refer to an entire generation; for example, almost everyone has heard someone say something in the style of “Young people now or this”.

Nevertheless, it is important to remember that regardless of the fact that the use that is commonly given to this word in everyday conversations may be a little more restricted and exclude children and young adults; it is not an error to apply it when talking about the two groups mentioned above.

Teenager

On the other hand, is called adolescent or teenager to any person whose age is in the specific range of the thirteen and nineteen years; hence the word in English.

A teenager or teenager is not old enough to be considered as an adult, but his age is not so low that he is still called a child. For this reason it is said that all adolescents are young, although not all young people are teenagers.

Finally, socially tends to have a negative idea when thinking about teenagers or teenagers. This is due in large part to the fact that in many cases this stage of life can be very conflictive and “intense”, but in the end not all adolescents are the same and every adult has to go through this stage first.
