  • Greeks are proud of their heritage and culture and are very hospitable. They are also known for their love of food and wine. Greeks typically speak Greek as their first language. However, many Greeks also speak English, particularly those who have been educated in English-speaking countries. Greeks are predominantly Orthodox Christians.
  • However, there is a small minority of Greeks who are Catholic or Muslim. Greeks typically live in nuclear families and place a high importance on family values. Greeks typically value education and many Greeks go on to pursue careers in medicine, law or business. Greeks have a strong sense of national pride and are very patriotic.

Difference between Romans and Greeks

Romans and Greeks were two of the most influential cultures of the ancient world. Though they shared many similarities, their divergent views on government, art, and religion would ultimately lead to centuries of conflict. The Romans were a pragmatic people, eager to expand their empire and solidify their power.

They built roads and aqueducts to facilitate trade and transportation, and established a system of law and order that promoted stability. In contrast, the Greeks valued beauty and intellectualism, creating magnificent works of art and philosophy that have shaped Western culture. Though they were often at war, the Romans and Greeks remain two of the most significant civilizations in history.


The Romans and Greeks had different approaches to life, art, and philosophy. While the two civilizations have many similarities, there are also some key differences.
