Both words have to do with things that happen, they would not be pleasant for us;
however, it is important to understand that despite the similarity; they refer to different things.

Danger
When we say that something is dangerous we are referring to that something could have the ability or the viability to do us harm.

For example, a boat in it is not dangerous; but it is dangerous to get out in it when there are strong storms.
