Knowledge vs. Truth

Difference between Knowledge and Truth: – Most people consider that knowledge and truth are exactly the same, however, that is not entirely true.

In general, they mean the same thing, since knowledge is considered truthful and truth is supposed to be the end that is intended to be achieved through knowledge; however, there are times when knowledge does not necessarily relate to truth.

Difference between Knowledge and Truth

To clarify any doubt you may have about it, here’s the difference between truth and knowledge.

Knowledge
It is defined as “knowledge” to the awareness or understanding of someone or something, facts, information, descriptions or skills; which is acquired through experience, education or through discoveries, perceptions or learning.

Basically, it is the theoretical or practical understanding of a topic. It is the understanding of a concept or idea; however, it may or may not be true.

Truth
The truth has received many definitions throughout history, but traditionally the most accepted definition is that given by Aristotle and says that it is true all that corresponds to reality and is related accurately to the world.

The truth is considered as a fact and something verifiable. It is real and authentic. Being all these elements inherent in the truth, it is important to know that there are people who may have knowledge of many things that are not necessarily true.

For example, in other times it was believed that the Earth was flat and if a navigator came to the end, it would fall from it. This was common knowledge, but it was not the truth. Truth will continue to be true, even if it is not known; while the knowledge one has may prove to be true or not.
