What are the Different Types of Wranglers?

The next difference is in the drive type – automatic or manual transmission with two different types of engines – gasoline and diesel. The transmission type (automatic or manual) and engine type will vary depending on the model and year of your Wrangler. Finally, you’ll find there are six different trim levels of the Wrangler, which are the Sport, Sport S, Sport S Special, Sahara, Rubicon, and Altitude.
Differences Between the 2-Door and 4-Door Wranglers

The Sahara and Sport models come standard with a 3.6-liter V6 engine, while the Rubicon model has a much more powerful 3.8-liter V6 engine. The higher horsepower of the Rubicon engine (285 hp as opposed to 271 hp in the other two) means it can get up to speed much faster. The Rubicon also has a higher towing capacity – up to 3,500 pounds. The next difference is in the amount of standard equipment. The Sahara model has the most standard features, while the Rubicon has the fewest. The optional equipment, however, is much more similar between the three models.
Jeep Wrangler JK and JKU Differences
The primary difference between the JK and JKU models is the engine. JK models feature a 3.8-liter normally aspirated engine, while JKU models have a 2.8-liter turbocharged engine. Besides the different engine types, these two models are very comparable. The number of doors is the only other difference between these two models. All other features – such as the trim options, transmission, and ground clearance – are the same. JK models have a higher towing capacity than JKU models, and the JKU’s ground clearance is slightly lower than that of the JK model. JK and JKU models are also the only Wranglers available with the option of installing a six-speed manual transmission.
What is the best Jeep Wrangler model?
There is no best Wrangler model, as each one has its strengths and weaknesses.
