The cost-sharing arrangement began on October 1, 2001, and ended on February 15, 2012. During the joint venture, Sony Ericsson released several phones under the Walkman series as well as the Cyber-shot series which were popular worldwide.

So, what is the difference between Ericsson and Sony Ericsson? The answer to that question is not so straightforward. In many ways, they are very similar companies with a focus on telecommunications and mobile devices. However, Sony acquired Ericsson in 2012 and has since made some changes to how the company operates. While both brands offer a wide range of products and services, Sony Ericsson is more focused on the mid-to-high-end smartphone market, while Ericsson targets a wider range of customers with their telecom solutions.
