Chiropractor
A chiropractor is a professional in charge of the diagnosis and treatment of mechanical disorders or the skeletal system.

Although generally this is usually a private service, there are some hospitals and health systems that offer Chiropractic or Chiropractic (as it is also known). The professionals in this area have to last a year of internship receiving courses and training.

Chiropractors are not doctors; therefore, they cannot prescribe medications to their patients. In the United States, for example, only a few states consider chiropractic as a necessary health service, and in very few states chiropractors are allowed to undergo minor surgeries.

Techniques: chiropractic adjustment (spine overcoat), electrical stimulation, acupuncture and pain management.

Physical therapist
On the other hand, physical therapists (also called physiotherapists) are doctors who provide treatment to restore mobility and function of the body in case of injury, illness or aging.

All curricular activities are required to complete a minimum of 30 weeks of internship if you want to do a specialty in Physical Therapy. In addition, residence is required. Also, although all physiotherapists are trained in pharmacology; almost never take charge of prescribing medicines, except in the case of the military.

In most cases, physiotherapists are not authorized to perform surgeries, except in the case of necrotic tissues.

Techniques: manual therapy techniques, neurological rehabilitation, muscle coordination training, tissue mobilization, massage and cardiovascular rehabilitation.
